In its most basic form, Thai molam is a rural folk music consisting of a “master singer” and a bamboo mouth organ. Although dismissed by urbanites as low-class, taxi driver music, molam is a raw, soulful, groove-oriented genre with many interesting variations. We are therefore thrilled to present this beautiful and deep selection of 1970's molam from rare 45s & LPs from Dangdut Banget (zubaidahrecords.com).
