A "curiosity cabinet" of rare and astonishing sounds & music, including a field recording made in the 1960s of a Papua New Guinea man blowing a live beetle’s wings like a mouth harp; beautiful night recordings from the forests of old Borneo ca. 1950s; a very rare pareret orchestra from Bali; an incredible field recording of a Malaysian mouith harp; vintage Thai shadow music & Malaysian pop; amazing recordings made off the radio in India; a 1980s Bollywood banger; a stunning field recording of what the Amazon, Gran Chaco & the Patanal sounded like in the 1950s; and some great old psychedelic chicha from Peru.
