DEEP JAPAN: OKINAWAN RECORDS FROM THE AMERICAN ERA

Updated: Feb 9

Born in Nagano Japan, パラクシュ (Pallaksch) explores the sounds of Japanese minyo and folk performing arts of the pre- and post-industrial era. He has traveled to Okinawa many times over the past twenty years, often staying for extended periods of time. The mix he prepared for us focuses on Okinawan records from the American era, 1945-1972. It was recorded by N Kataoka (Forestlimit). Enjoy!
