A deft and timely piece of sound art, Ear Explorer, an Italian sound collective that resurrects dead sounds, transports us to the Bikini lagoon and into an uncertain future.

"Here is the Bikini lagoon, mirroring the sky that attacked it last year with the monstrous and stupendous mushroom of an atomic explosion. A group of American scientists has landed on the atoll. Special instruments are arranged to record the effects of deadly radioactivity. Can one still live in Bikini? Only the fruits remain to answer" – Bikini One Year Later (Corriere della Sera, July 25, 1947)

Many thanks to Marco Bazzoli, Stefano Beschi, and Stefano Zaniboni.
