ANIMIST RECORDS: SOUNDSCAPES AND FOLK MUSIC FROM SOUTHEAST ASIA

Animist Records is an Amsterdam-based label specializing in outernational music from the southeast Asian diaspora and beyond. Curated by Olivier Schreuder and Apichat Pakwan, this mixtape features a collection of label releases and never-before-broadcasted field recordings made over the past 15 years throughout the region, including local ceremonies, festivals, markets, public announcements, masterclasses of legendary musicians etc. from Burma, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia.
